Well here he is.
Genius Classic Cadence. I purchased him from
Maple Crest Farms in 2005 as a yearling. Cadence is going to be 5.
Oh my, where did the years go?
I have been breaking (new politically correct term
starting) and
training horses for 34 years. Most all of them Quarter horses, a few
Arabians and one Friesian. I have trained five of them
to drive
and handle road traffic. This is my first Tennessee Walking Horse.
I have to say he is the easiest horse I have ever had the pleasure of
training. He is so eager to please and always looking to me for
attention and guidance.
There is hardly a spooky bone in his body. If he does spook I have
to laugh because he does it in place and quickly gets over it but this
rarely happens. He is like the cat, and wants to check it out.
Even as a 3 year old I rode him to Kansas Ohio (a small town near us)
and past grain bins that are running their circulation systems at full
bore.
I purchased him because I wanted a horse that could cover ground
quickly, safely and wasn't a freak. I got what I asked for! I have
14 miles of filter strips to ride in my area and allot of paved road and
traffic to get to some of them. Cadence handles it like it is his second
nature. I do not have anyone but my dog to ride with so we are always alone, he has
never been herd bound and the dog jumping in and out of the ditch seems
to be a comfort to him. Also, I do my own hoof trimming Cadence has the
best hooves of any horse I have owned. I do not shoe him I don't need to.
Would I purchase another Maple Crest Farms walking horse? You bet! Not
only are the horses what they say they are but the staff is very willing to help you with any questions or training you need, horse
or rider.
Thank you Maple Crest!

Hello Joyce,
I just wanted to update you on “Power”, aka “Thunder” in our barn and his
amazing progress. You probably saw all the media attention several months
ago, given for a local

pregnant girl, Jessie Davis, who was kidnapped and
killed by her police officer boyfriend. Jessie lived a mile from our home.
My daughter and I searched the local fields and woods for several days
before Equisearch arrived. After their arrival, Equisearch dispatched us
where needed and other local riders helped. On Friday of that week, a equine
search and rescue team from the Columbus area arrived and joined our
efforts. Unfortunately, Jessie was not to be found alive, but the outpouring
of concern from so many was uplifting. Thunder was wonderful. He took the
media in stride including pushy camera men, generators, crowds, and all the
racket involved in such a big effort. He navigated areas that he had never
seen before, and performed with other less behaved animals. When the team
from Columbus found out he was only 3 years old, they could not believe it.
We headed our own group with a radio constantly buzzing from one leader to
another. He was an awesome animal for any age. His youth is what made him
exceptional. He did what ever was asked of him. Thank you for breading such
a wonderful animal. You hear of people experiencing a “once in a life time
animal”. Well I found mine. Thank you again.
